The International Students Office coordinates all the International Students in the School and helps with:

Accommodation:

  1. International Students allocate suitable accommodation on arrival, it is advisable that before arrival the student contacts the office for guidance on the accommodation options.
  1. All accommodation at mubs is located outside the campus. The student’s hostels are located in Kiswa, Nakawa, and Banda which are residential areas near the MUBS campus.
  • The Hostels in the Kiswa neighbourhood are the most convenient for International students and are half a kilometre away from the Campus. (10 minutes walk from the Campus)

Student Passes/Visa

  1. All International students studying in Uganda are expected to attain student passes on admission. At the entry point, the student gets a temporary student pass that is supposed to be renewed on commencement of studies and this is mandatory.
  1. The Law provides for entry facilities in Uganda including Visas, Passes and Entry permits. Section 53, Cap 66 and Sub Section 5(1-3) of Immigration Control states:

“A pupil or student pass may be issued by the Commissioner to any person who satisfies the Commissioner that he or she has been accepted as a pupil or student by a training establishment in Uganda licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports”

  • All heads of Education Institutions are required to make arrangements and ensure that learners, including Citizens from the East African Community (EAC) Member States apply for student passes on admission to their respective Education Institutions
  • Universities and other Institutions of Learning are required by law to task the admitted students to immediately apply for student passes on www. Visas.immigration.go.ug or call 0800199004.
  • No student/ learner shall be registered in the School without a student pass.
  • Schools hosting refugees are required to ensure regular and timely submission of lists for refugee students every six months to enable the Immigration Department and Ministry of Education and Sports to establish the actual number of refugee students in learning Institutions across the Country.
